CNIA Executive Elected

The Canadian Nursing Informatics Association, an acknowledged group of the Canadian Nurses Association has just announced their first Board of Directors and first group of ten Jurisdictional Representatives. .

The Board members include: PRESIDENT: Dr. Lynn Nagle, Toronto, Ontario, PRESIDENT ELECT: Robin Carriere, Toronto, Ontario; DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION: Jack Yensen, Vancouver, British Columbia;
DIRECTOR OF MEMBERSHIP SERVICES: Lucy Reyes, Calgary, Alberta;
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS:
June Kaminski, Vancouver, British Columbia.

The ten jurisdictional representatives are Margie Munch, Newfoundland; Mary Eileen Wall, Nova Scotia; Mary Lou Casey, New Brunswick; Claude Lemay, Quebec; Sally Remus, Ontario; Dawn-Marie Turner, Manitoba; Laureen Larson, Saskatchewan; Lori Forand, Alberta and Alyse Capron, British Columbia.

The executive have noteworthy plans to unite Canadian nurses interested in learning and working with informatics; provide guidelines and opportunities for informatics theory and practice skill development and to be the national voice for nursing informatics.
